1st Annual Redmen Summer Hockey Tournament

Fundamental Objectives:
- Offer current Redmen players a chance to raise money for tuition and rent.
- Increase awareness for the hockey program and McGill University.
- Raise money for the McGill hockey program; increase the financial resources that go towards recruiting, tourneys and other team activities.
- Bring alumni together for a competitive weekend of hockey, while renewing friendships and good old memories.

Tournament objectives:
Most teams will be made up of alumni and friends. Alumni who wish to participate and sponsor the tournament will be asked to put together a team made up of friends, family, co-workers, etc. Other teams from the area can also participate. The objective is to bring together 12-18 teams to participate in a 3-day event at McConnell Arena. The teams will be divided into two categories: Men and Women. Each team will play a minimum of 2 games and a maximum of 5 games.

Tournament schedule:
Depending on the number of teams, the tournament will start at 7 pm Friday night and finish at 5 pm Sunday night. We plan to schedule 22-28 games over the tourney.

Tournament rules:
- 5-on-5 hockey for men and 4-on-4 hockey for women.
- 2-minute warm-up, two 20-minute periods, running time with last 2 minutes stop time.
- No team is allowed more than 3 "elite players". A player is considered "elite" if he/she played at a high level in the last two years. (CIS, QMJHL, LNAH, PRO, Pro hockey in Europe and/or USA)
- Registration Fee: $350 for men and $275 for women.
- Prizes for winners and finalists to be determined depending on the number of teams.

Other:
If anyone wishes to participate in the tournament without having any team to play for, send in a name and we will find a team.
