Hockey Redmen to wrestle UNB for gold on national TV tonight
Mar. 27, 2011
FREDERICTON -- Please note that tonight's CIS gold medal men's hockey game between
second-seeded McGill and top-seeded UNB at the CIS championship in Fredericton
will be televised live on Rogers Sportsnet at 7 pm Montreal time.
It will also be webcast on SSN Canada and live stats will be available on the
McGill Athletics & Recreation website. The Redmen rallied for a 2-1 come-from-behind
victory over the St.FX X-Men on Thursday and doubled the Bears 6-3 on Saturday,
improving to 37-4-3 overall.
The two teams have only met once this season, with UNB coming up on the top
side of a 7-1 victory in non-conference play over the Christmas holidays. Should
the Redmen win, it would mean that they have defeated the OUA West champion
Western Mustangs, the Canada West champion Alberta Golden Bears and the Atlantic
champion UNB V-Reds.
